Collection of Quality Coconuts

The finest quality of coconuts are directly collected from coconut growers across various villages in Kerala and processed for the oil extraction at our manufacturing unit in Ayiloor, Palakkad. Under normal circumstances we collect the coconut weighing between 400 to 500 grams, we remove immatured and damaged coconut and use only the highest quality coconuts.

Splitting of Coconuts into two halves

De-husked coconuts are split into two equal halves using coconut cutter and drained dry which is followed by a quality check to remove bad and tender coconuts before the drying process begins.

Drying of Coconuts

The quality checked coconuts are moved to Drier chamber “A” and the coconut meat is heated directly by hot air blown using the furnace blower. The moisture content is first reduced from 55 per cent to 35 per cent within 12 hours.

Separation of Coconut from Shells

This is a manual process where shells are separate from the semi dried coconut meat and transferred to chamber “B” for further drying.

Copra Making

Over the next 12 hours the moisture content of the coconut is further reduced to 20 per cent in chamber “B”

Copra Readiness

Finally the copra are moved to chamber “C” where the heating continues to obtain 5-6% moisture contain which is monitored continuously using infrared thermometer.

Copra Chopping

The ready copra’s are moved from Chamber “C” to the Copra cutting machine where they are cut into small pieces and elevated to the expeller using the bucket elevator, which is complete automated process.

Crushing in Expeller

In this process the chopped copra’s are further crushed in Oil expeller for the extraction of oil. This process is repeated for a couple of times to get the maximum output.

Separation of Cake

This is an automated process where the remains of the crushed copra (Cake) get separated and collected once the oil has been completely extracted from them.
